I tripped across this site looking for help to pay our rent and some other bills. My husband had a really great job until late Jan 08 and the company he was and independent contractor for had their contracts pulled from their major client due to the clients financial issues. He was pulled home 2 weeks early from a job that he was doing in New York. The next day we got an email from his company just simply stating there would be no more trips or contracts. No we are sorry nothing. So since Jan he has been activly looking for work just to compete with 200 plus people for every application he put in. No calls for interviews, etc. On July 11th he got a phone call from one of the local Animal Hospitals that offered him a job to clean kennals and do janitoral work at nights. It was the only job offer he had, had in 6 months. He took the job and began working on July 14th. During the 6 months he was out of work we were relying on my mtg business as a contract processor - not broker, to get us through and were doing pretty good considering the current market being able to keep only 2 months behind on bills and current with rent. Until July 1st that is - my husband had to sell his drums and all music equipment to make rent and we fell another month behind on all debt. I have never been one to ask for help figuring there was always someone more needy out there, but we are and have drowned here. On the 1st of August we owe our rent $ 1235.00, phone $ 132.00, tv $ 50.00 and a direct loan interest payment of $ 90.00 of which none will be there. That does not include all the other bills, plus the fact that my daughter goes back to school on the 12th and on the 4th we have to pay her school registration of $ 182.00, somehow figure out how to get school supplies and clothing. I can not believe all the posts that I have read on here, they are so sad and I wish so much that I could help each and everyone of you. Now that my husband is back to work we should be able to start catching stuff up in Sept or Oct, but we would like to ask and see if there is anyone who could help us with this debt right now. We are not asking to be given the money, we would be more than happy to pay it back - a little at a time.
